Full Description

Fratzeskos Fish Tavern is a family‑owned, seafront restaurant in Perissa, located just a few meters from the famous black sand beach. It has been welcoming guests since 2006 and has built a reputation for fresh fish, generous portions and a relaxed, authentic island atmosphere.

The menu combines traditional Greek cuisine with a strong focus on seafood. Every day, the team works with local fishermen to bring in fresh fish and seafood, which are then simply grilled, fried or baked to let the natural flavors stand out. Alongside the fish, you will find classic Santorinian dishes such as fava, tomato fritters and Santorini salad, as well as Greek salads, dips and other meze that are perfect for sharing.

The setting is exactly what you expect from a beach tavern in Santorini: blue chairs, white tables, the sound of the waves and the sea breeze cooling the space.

Fratzeskos is a place where you feel comfortable whether you come as a couple, with friends or with family. The atmosphere is casual and friendly, the service is warm and the prices are fair for the quality and freshness you get. It is a great choice if you are staying in Perissa or Perivolos and want to experience a proper fish tavern by the sea, without having to travel to another part of the island.

Menu highlights

✔ Creative salads such as tomato with pickled cucumber, local cheese and wild capers,

and avocado with red shrimps, crispy quinoa and bitter almond dressing.

✔ Stand-out appetisers including grilled calamari with red lentil purée and chorizo, and

grilled scallops with stuffed agnolotti and fava cream.

✔ Refined mains like woodfired red snapper with caponata and romesco, Dover sole

with bouillabaisse sauce, and veal tenderloin with morels and thyme.

✔ Signature courses featuring roasted lamb fillet with smoked eggplant purée and

cauliflower couscous, and homemade tagliolini with grilled crayfish and fresh truffle.

Drinks

✔ Carefully selected wines, with crisp white labels that enhance the flavours of

tomatoes, sea urchins, fava and fish.

✔ Champagne and sparkling options for celebratory toasts at sunset.

This is our favorite place in Perissa. We were enjoying excellent service and delicious food from early morning till the late evening. Perfect place to hang out on the beach and later in the evening to have a great dinner. The girl, who takes the orders at the beach is always smiling and friendly. Waiters at the restaurant are very helpful and fast. Food is amazingly tasty and fresh. We came here almost every day, sometimes we tried to have a bite at another place, but every time we came back to Fratzeskos. Thank you for your hospitality and delicious cuisine.

Excellent seafood restaurant in Perissa! The plates are very generous, the food is absolutely delicious, and everything tasted fresh and well prepared. The staff were exemplary — attentive, kind, and always smiling. A special mention to the owner, who was extremely welcoming, sympathetic, and made us feel at home from the first moment. The restaurant is also spotless and very clean, which made the experience even better. The location next to the sand and the beach atmosphere make it a perfect place to relax and enjoy a meal in Santorini. Highly recommended!

The best restaurant in the entire island!!! I hope it never changes! The food was simply perfect, you could feel that it was freshly made and taken care of. The highlight was the potatoes, which were so tasteful and obviously homemade! Until next time!! Thank you!!

Absolutely exceptional experience from start to finish! We sat right by the water and the view of the beach and the mountain was absolutely breathtaking. I ordered the grilled sepia (squid) along with a fresh Greek salad, and both were incredibly fresh and flavorful. The wine paired perfectly with the seafood, and the service was amazing—everyone was so attentive and welcoming. Getting to enjoy a perfect meal with the sea breeze and the local beach cats made it unforgettable. A must-visit in Perissa!

Fratzeskos offers a truly authentic Greek seaside dining experience, right on Santorini’s iconic black sand beach. You can literally enjoy your meal with your feet in the sand and the sound of the waves in the background—hard to beat that setting. The menu focuses on fresh, traditional Greek cuisine, especially seafood. I tried grilled squid for the first time—it was cooked properly, tender and well-prepared, but just not my personal preference. Don not forget order Tomato balls. Where the kitchen really stands out is with fresh fish—simple, clean cooking that lets the natural flavor shine, exactly how Greek coastal food should be. The staff were friendly and welcoming, adding to the relaxed, local vibe. Overall, a great spot if you’re looking for authentic Greek food by the beach. Even if some dishes come down to personal taste, the freshness, atmosphere, and location make it worth a visit.
